When to use this guide

Use this guide when the same product appears more than once in a supplier's Product Live table, the BSL product table, or both.

Supplier and BSL product tables

BSL and the supplier use separate Product Live accounts and product tables. Product information is exchanged through Sourcing Collect, but each side manages its own table.

  1. BSL sends a request:Products Sourcing collect - Supplier mailing sends the supplier an email with a product data file.
  2. The supplier initializes the information: The supplier downloads the attachment and runs Initialize your product information in their account using that file.
  3. The supplier completes the information: The supplier fills in the required Sourcing information.
  4. The supplier sends it back: The supplier selects the relevant products and runs Send products to BSL.
  5. BSL receives the information:Collect products processes the submission on the BSL side for the Sourcing process.

What to do about a duplicate

  • Supplier table: Ask the supplier administrator to identify the unwanted item, select it and use Delete items. BSL IT cannot delete items from the supplier's table.
  • BSL table: If a BSL product should be deleted, submit a ticket to BSL IT with the product ID of the record to delete and the ID of the record to keep, if applicable.

Deleting a product from the BSL table does not remove or change the product in the supplier's table. If both tables need cleanup, each side must handle its own record. Confirm the correct records before requesting or performing deletion.
